When the firm launched in 1980, we adopted guiding principles that remain valid to this day:

2. Our passion is working in an integrated team environment to build and preserve architecturally significant buildings that have superior energy performance.
3. Our approach is holistic, inclusive and collaborative. We begin each project with an open agenda, listen to proposals by all stakeholders and apply our technical expertise to guide owners toward informed decisions.
4. Our best resource is our employees, who design great systems, mentor students, bike to work, write articles for journals, sing in clubs, climb mountains, give seminars, perform community service and make us proud to have them all on our team.
