George School is a private Quaker boarding and day high school located on a rural campus in Bucks County. It was founded at its present site in 1893, and has grown from a single building to over 20 academic, athletic and residential buildings.
A facilities master plan set the tone for the design of a comprehensive new athletic center. Among its many features are a natatorium with a 25-meter pool; a three-court practice gym and a two-court performance gym occupying the same space; fitness center; aerobics area; wrestling practice and meet space; locker and shower rooms; offices; classrooms; and conference rooms. Revit, a powerful building information modeling (BIM) software program, was used to design the building, and its 3D modeling feature helped the owner and design team, including BBA, visualize exposed mechanical systems. LEED Silver certification is anticipated for the $25 million facility.
