The purpose of Drexel University’s Laurence A. Baiada Institute is to equip student entrepreneurs with the physical space, mentoring and resources to incubate their startup companies. Baiada is located on the fourth floor of the Pearlstein Building and is affiliated with the Charles D. Close School of Entrepreneurship.
Conscious of its mission as a launch pad for future titans of industry, the Institute underwent a complete renovation to modernize its appearance and provide more of the type of space that best supports its program. The scope of work included alterations to offices within the dean’s suite and east and west lobbies, and repurposed other existing areas for business incubation and collaboration.
BBA designed improvements to existing MEP systems and specified new equipment and reconfigurations where appropriate. Electrical engineering supported lighting, fire alarm, telecommunications, security, and audio visual systems.
